Prepping for your appointment…

Before you come in for your session:

  • Please avoid alcohol and caffeine consumption at least 48 hours prior.

  • Shower/shave tattoo area if needed. (No worries if you forget to shave! I have razors in the studio.)

  • Dress appropriately with the tattoo placement in mind.

  • Get a good night’s rest the night before and have a meal before you arrive.

  • Free your schedule for the day so your tattoo session does not get rushed through. This will ensure I have plenty of time to create a beautiful piece for you!

  • (Optional) Bring a form of entertainment with you for the session such as books, an iPad, headphones/earbuds for music.

Tattoo Aftercare

Congratulations on your new permanent artwork! Please follow these instructions to properly take care of your tattoo & ensure it’s overall healing results:

  • Please keep your saniderm/second skin on for about 3-5 days before removal.
(If you notice there is a slight discomfort or redness from the saniderm after the first day, please remove the saniderm immediately to avoid further irritation.)

  • If you notice ink is puddling inside the saniderm, that is a combination of excess ink, blood, and plasma naturally being pushed out as your skin is in the process of healing. It is completely normal and as long as the ink bubble does not burst, it is okay to leave the saniderm on.

  • Do not take a bath or go swimming with your saniderm on. Avoid completely submerging your tattoo underwater.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure.

  • Avoid working out or doing any strenuous activities that may cause sweating. Potential sweat build-up from inside the saniderm may possibly infect your tattoo.

  • Avoid wearing tight or abrasive clothing to allow the tattoo to breathe.

  • Stretch/ gently pull the second skin away from the tattoo when removing. It is recommended to do so under warm, running water.

  • Clean your fresh tattoo with unscented, antibacterial soap (if not available, a mild fragrance-free soap is a good alternative).

  • After saniderm removal, apply A&D ointment or Hustle Butter everyday for the next 1-2 weeks until your tattoo is fully healed.

  • Avoid picking or itching your tattoo during its scabbing process.

  • If you ever have any concerns or questions about the healing process, feel free to email me at brkreative@gmail.com.
